We had a situation last night where one of our centerline alignment got all kinds of contorted in the DGN file, and no one knows what happened, or even was in the file. Has anyone ever had unexplainable, catastrophic things happen to important DGN files? I was able to locate a backup and sub in and things seemed to work fine from that point, but had I not done that, we would be looking at severe issues. At another point, an important DGN file got corrupted as a result of using a Simple Arc geometry tool. Is the best "insurance policy" for these issues just to back up files constantly into an archive? Is there any way to un-corrupt a file, or actions to avoid to prevent corruptions from taking place? Connectivity is great in theory, but things like this make me have nightmares.
