I recently posted a question regarding element templates which turned out to be my own confusion.
What led to that confusion is dialog inconsistancies.
If you create a Terrain element using the MicroStation LandXML import tool, you have the option to apply an element template to the created Terrain element.
If you create a Terrain element using the Civil import tools (From File, From ASCII, From Graphics, etc), you have the option to set the Terrain Feature definition. You do not have the option to set the Terrain Element template.
Why?
Are the "features" for defining the symbology of individual Terrain sub-elements - breaklines or spots or voids etc.. the primary pieces used to create the Terrain element? If yes, then this is useful when a single sub-element type is imported. Is it useful if multiple sub-element types are imported in a single operation?
And, in all of these tools where creation of a Terrain element is the goal, shouldn't we be able to set the element template during the creation?
