Civil Cell Not Able to Added to the Corridor

I have placed a driveway civil cell but when I proceed to add it as a corridor reference to my main corridor I get the message "Element not valid for tool" no matter what line I try to pick. Any thoughts as to why I cannot pick the civil cell?
