Ss2 Corridor Modelling - Point Control Mischief

This can add to an earlier post about issues with Point Controls.

While working on a couple of intersection curb returns, I had issues where the two half corridors will come together (see image)

I have a corridor alignment following the edges of road for the shown corridor and above it is its matching half corridor. Both of these share an alignment as their matching edge up to the shown station where the edge begins following a horizontal alignment representing a sawcut in an existing road. The point that is tied to the horizontal alignment along this sawcut has a project to surface constraint for its vertical component.

So the mischief part is that this shared point where the two H/V controls along the centerline meet the H control sawcut alignment would fail. The template drop prior to and following these points on both corridors correctly tied in as desired. But the single template drop where these all come together would hold the original template offsets and elevations.

As you can see, I eventually got it to work. The workaround was to use two Horizontal Controls and one Vertical Control. The sawcut control as originally defined was left unchanged. The H/V control for the shared centerline was divided into one H and one V control. The alignments and station limits were the same, with one control using only the horizontal alignment and the second control using only the vertical alignment (from the same horizontal alignment.) Once split, the point controls worked as desired. This same workaround was required for both corridors to get that one template drop on both corridors to work.
