Enhancement request for context-sensitive tool bar in OpenRoads SS3

Working in Microstation and Geopak SS2 for 6 years, I never had Identify Elements Automatically because I got in the habit of clicking in the area of my target element and if the right one received the datapoint, I did reset until I got the right one, then clicked again.

Now I'm seeing that the only way I can get the context-sensitive tool bar to open up is to have it on. There's a couple things I don't like about that:

  1. It's annoying to see elements highlight as I move the cursor over the screen.
  2. When I'm trying to target an element, sometimes it flashes as though it's identified but I can't click it, so I move the cursor a couple more pixels over, see it flash, and then flash off, and over and over again.
  3. When I'm prompted to DP an element for a tool, I have to do a tentative snap (or several) to make sure I'm clicking the right one, because as soon as I click it, it's selected. (This is actually true even with Identify Elements Automatically set to off--for civil tools, at least. Yes, I can remove it too, but why not add it right the first time? Also, it's the same amount of tedium to remove the one I'd incorrectly attached.)

But I'd like to have access to the context-sensitive tools without Identify Elements Automatically, and when using civil tools, I'd like to have the option of using reset to cancel a specific element I may have selected accidentally.
