None of our clients have issued any new files for use with Open Roads. Generally, many of them have also not embraced all of the parts of Ss2 that seem essential before one begins such a migration.
For example, many feature styles are incomplete when it comes to using them in a DTM as well as plotting and annotating them in a profile or cross section. So we have been forced to make our own assumptions on many of the settings needed to accommodate these useful workflows. My fear is that if I take these forward and these clients finally issue their revised files, that many of the things I have been forced to assume will be very different. And with these differences, we will have to "unlearn" our workflows to learn the client approach. Additionally, the amount of effort required to make a migration which might eventually have to be discarded makes me hesitant to make the leap.
So, with this thread, I am hoping to get some positive feedback about the amount of work required but also to hear of any issues that might prove problematic. TIA
