Helo!
I am a new user of InRads/RailTrack.
I am working on an alignment design - in fact one of the first in RailTrack. Frankly, I am disappointed of the unfriendliness of the software – compared with the ones that I have used before.
Here is one of my problems: I had to design an alignment – two straights and a curve, to make it simple – and the curve had to pass through a specific point. My colleagues showed me the Multiple Element Regression Analysis tool. After some iterations we reached the point ... Also, I tried the nudge tool from the Horizontal Element editor.
A lot of work for a simple thing ... to make a curve to pass through a point – even the math behind it is simple.
I have used before a German software –ProVI . In it this task was very simple – define the straights and then the user had the possibility to dynamically change the Radius, by moving the mouse on the screen to that specific point, click it – and Voila! (see the image below)
I am wondering, does InRoads/Railtrack is lacking this simple tool?
What is the simplest way to solve my problem in InRoads, without any iteration (regression)?
I am sorry, I don’t want to be rood ... I realy want to use and understand the software!
