Hello,
I'm trying to design a civil cell for a sidewalk ramp that gets placed on top of existing sidewalk / curb lines.
The curb sidewalk layout looks like this:
The sidewalk ramp cell currently looks like this:
I've noted the corresponding references and optional references in both pictures.
If I'm *very* careful, I can construct the sidewalk so that it places correctly using the cell depicted in the second picture. However, to complete it, I need to trim out the existing sidewalk front / curb face lines (the optional references in the civil cell). I can do this by applying chamfers on the optional reference lines and trimming in the back direction.
However, once I do that, it completely screws up the civil cell placement. Below is one of many different "interpretations" I've managed to get:
Here's a rough idea of how it's supposed to look:
What's worse is that going back and trying to correct it eventually fails - even constructions that worked previously will no longer construct properly, even if I'm very careful to undo previous actions, rather than drop cells and delete existing lines. Once this starts happening, Microstation eventually crashes - typically on an undo operation.
In any case, I've managed to construct my lines in the same directions as their references, but I really don't know what else I'm supposed to do when building civil cells that would prevent these results.
It's largely by trial and error that I've gotten this far and it's taken about three days to work it out... Any tips would be appreciated.
