Openroads-Geopak I have imported field data and need to edit breaklines for terrain, I am not able to insert a point into a feature line

I am having difficulty using the tools provide for survey processing of field files.   I see places where I could edit a feature line if permitted, but they are grayed out.

ie "Manage Point List" or "Insert Point to Linear Feature"

What am I doing wrong
