Projecting Drainage to Existing Profile

Hello All

I am having an issue with cross drains when projecting drainage alignments to existing profiles. I have two catchpits at the following stations along my alignment.

 - Sta 1317.886

 - Sta 1317.292

When I project these to an existing alignment profile, I get an error which states "Cannot project all structures selected for profile"

I have see the following error message in relation to this issue at Point number 22 at  this link - http://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki/storm-and-sanitary-error-messages

The above link suggests that this is a result of the two structures having the same Station, but this is not the case. They are not fully perpendicular as there is a 574mm difference between them. However I believe that the software thinks that their station is the same. I have changed the Project Options settings to a higher accuracy (up to 7 decimal places) and this does not seem to solve the problem.

I think t has something to do with the structure size, as when I bring the difference in station to more that the structure size i.e. the structures no longer overlap in profile - then it sorts itself out.

As a result, my planned solution is to make a special crossing catcpit structure for use on crossing drains, that will allow to resolve the structure overlap and keep the cross pipes as perpendicular as possible.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? Does anyone have a solution that is better or more robust than what I have suggested?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

A
