I am converting from a geopak smd survey preference system to an inroads xin preference system, (and using the openroads technology)
and am a surveyor who primarily uses Bentley for producing survey plans from raw data and capturing graphics for export and set out.
I have a converted geopak smd file (in xml format) that I can use for feature definitions, to continue my original vast data base of display styles when plotting. However, it seems if I want to edit this file I would have to go back to geopak, which seems pointless.
The other option is using an xin inroads file, which seems a magical file that does everything. I have borrowed a Vicroads xin file, and inserted into the project defaults. But when I try to edit or add new categories of feature definition, it will not let me 'apply' these changes (the button is greyed out)
So I have someone else's file that I want to edit but can't, and my old file which I want to edit but can't!
I was really expecting openroads technology to help with these sorts of change overs. What am I missing?
