Reference element has no active 3d error when placing civil cell
I get this error when I try to place a civil cell (intersection) and want to locate centerline on secondary road.
I have tried both "True" and "False" settings for feature definition "automatically create 3d elements" for the centerline.

Is there a way to create a TIN or DTM from a proposed 3D design file?
I have completed my design in SS3 OpenRoads, and I currently have a default model and a 3D model for my design. I would like to create a TIN or DTM of the entire 3D model because it has all the proposed surfaces and elements I will need. Is there a way for me to create a TIN of the entire 3D model or will I have to create a TIN of each terrain model? This also poses a problem because I have only seen tools to create a TIN or DTM from terrain- are there options to include linear templates in the proposed TIN?

Creating a TIN from OpenRoads Model by graphical filters.
I am trying to create a TIN from my 3D Model that I created in OpenRoads. The corridor is referenced to another drawing because I have multiple corridors that will eventually need to be created in the same TIN. But every time I try to create a terrain by using the Graphical Filter tool it tells me "No Matching 3D elements found".

Overlapping Segment
I'm running Roadway Designer with Geopak V8i SS2. When I create a surface from the corridor, I get an error of "overlapping segment" with a long list of points and the resulting surface is incomplete. This hasn't always happened with this corridor so what is causing it and how do I fix it?

Can't seem to get the field descriptions to show when importing points in OpenRoads SS3
I am currently using Geopak Suite 08.11.09.726 with MicroStation 08.11.09.608. I've set the Survey Settings File Parsing Description Separator and am using an ASCII comma delimited text file. I have been doing this without problem for several years in Geopak Survey SS2 - with the smd and other settings.

How to "Visualize" Points using SS3
I am currently using Geopak Suite 08.11.09.726 with MicroStation 08.11.09.608. Our procedure with Geopak Survey SS2 is/was to import points into one catch-all file and then 'visualize' specific imported points into separate files for manipulating. Is there a similar / parallel way to do that in Geopak SS3?

I am using Bentley InRoads Suite V8i (SS3). I can't find the Modeller>Roadway Desinger which was able to use in older versions. How to open it so I can proceed with creating road's corps?

Superelevation wizard SS2 (inroads 8.11.07.494 )
Greetings,
Other postings on this topic refer to earlier revs of InRoads so I thought I'd trot it out again. Sorry for any redundancy.
I'm looking for some clear direction on how to bend the superelevation wizard in InRoads to meet my state's runoff calculation method.
I've tried a couple of combinations of settings in the opening dialog and have successfully attached our DOT 55 mph super table, but I can't seem to get the wizard to come close to the target stations that our method dictates.
The method in simple terms is to apply a super transition rate of 1:400 such that the full length of runoff is spread 2/3 on tangent (before the PC or after the PT) and 1/3 on the curve. See figure below...
What ever I seem to do, settings wise, I never get the last 1/3 of the runoff to start at the PC/PT.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

[MX SS3] CAD references
Hello,
I got a simple question to MS users. Yesterday my PowerDraft in MX has overridden all line styles in external references (screenshot below - in MX and native in AutoCAD). I suppose I have change something unintentionally (I don't know what because I'm preparing final drawings in AutoCAD and don't know MS). Any ideas how to restore native reference line styles?]

SS3-OpenRoads-Civil Standards>Project Settings>Survey
We are having a problem reading the Civil Standards>Project Settings>Survey>GDOT setting from our ProjectSettings.DGNLIB. Our seed file has somehow gotten a ‘Setting’ entry and all it will read is this setting and we are unable to delete this setting. We have another seed file that doesn’t have this and when this ‘Setting’ is gone everything works fine when we create a field book under the survey tab and import a CSV file. The seed file that is causing us problems has a couple days work adding Survey filters that we don’t want to lose. Can anyone help us with this. I have attached the seed file, a dgn file with our CSV file imported and several of the DGNLIBS and other we are using in for open roads that may help in troubleshooting this.

Civil Geometry Fillet between Arcs - wrong clothoid R value
Hi,
Several times when I use Spiral-curve-spiral tool to create fillet between two arcs of the same direction I felt into problems. Once Civil Geometry is exported to ALG i use check integrity command to verify my alignment and I got Radi Mismatch notice there.
I digged in element properties for that fillet in civil goemtry and discovered that Spiral End or Start value is always set to 0.000 insteda of the value of arcs that being connected with that fillet.
Please take a look at screenshot attached. Something is wrong here. Can anyone has similar problem with civil geometry? Maybe I overlooked something.
Any help is needed.

Corridor Mesh Ignores Ditch
I am trying to create a terrain model from several corridors so I can investigate the drainage using the other terrain model tools. My problem is the corridor meshes I am trying to use for my terrain are ignoring my ditch and jumping over the top. How can I ensure a component in a template will be included in meshes? alternativly is ther a way to exclude an element from the mesh?

Is there a configuration variable for our .xml survey styles, or do we have to load it every time before importing points/data?

UnSafe Debug Mode
I've been combining several pieces of topo survey into one file. I recently have been receiving the message below upon opening CivilSuite.
If I select "yes" i can work in the file but I'm not sure of the consequence of doing that. Selecting "no" boots me out of Civil Suite.
What do I need to do to get rid of this message?

Field book asociated with alignment
Hi! I would like to know how I can get I report ( in inroads, power civil or bentley rail track) where I can see the chainage, horizontal and vertical offset NOT from the active geometry otherwise from the field book points relative to that alignment. What if plus I have got a cross section, can I see the profile offset to the cross section in the report?

Workspace: Button Assignments
Power GEOPAK V8i SS3

I'm having issues with the button assignments not saving when I make a change. Once I close the program and reopen, I have to remap. I like to assign 'Pan Drag' to the middle mouse button when pressed and held. I did not have this issue with the earlier version of SS3.
Any help is appreciated
