Be gone tiny contours!

If one is familiar with what a LiDAR point cloud is, then they know that they are working with millions and millions of points. When creating a DTM surface from a point cloud, the resulting triangulated network will be quite intense and dense. One problem I am having is when it comes to generating contours. Even if I decimate the point cloud and reduce the density to a tiny fraction of its original content, I still get a lot of triangles in the final TIN. Then when it comes time to render/display/generate contours, I will get what I call "tiny contours", that is, closed contour lines (i.e., a closed shape) that often are less than a few feet in total length.  These "tiny contours" clutter up the final product. One really doesn't need to know that a 6" wide rock exists in someone's front yard, yet if that rock is 4" above a 1' contour line, you will get a tiny contour showing the top of the rock.

It is a shame that Geopak provides no option to set the minimum contour line length when displaying contours. From a programming standpoint, this would be extremely easy to implement.

In the mean time, is there a solution to get rid of these "tiny contours" other than decimating the point cloud even further?

Here's a picture of a 100' x100' example. Notice all needless tiny contours?
