I've had success utilizing "Surface Templates" to apply pavement structure templates to asbuilt terrain surfaces. The resulting cross sections are coming out great, the earthwork shapes came out correct the first time correctly quantifying earthwork to the bottom of the pavement structure. But, we typically provide our projects' earthwork quantities in both average end area sections and surface to surface reports for comparison. So, is it possible to utilize a Terrain with Surface Templates to generate "subgrade adjusted" earthwork quantities?
Right now I'm trying to create a terrain using surface template data from "generate linear features", then create a complex surface using the asbuilt terrain and merge the bottom of surface template to create the complex subgrade terrain, "trying" being the operative word. Any suggestions??
