How many versions of our set of Project Default reg files do I need to setup any version of InRoads on any operating system?
I have been struggling with this with just XP as my OS when migrating from 8.5 thru XM to V81, V8i Ss1, Ss2 and now Ss3. Add to that the migration from XP 32 bit to a mix of Windows 7 & 8, mostly 64 bit.
I usually have to try three or four reg files before finding one that works and what worked for one PC and version did not always work on the same PC but different version.
I know efforts were made to have the products share one set of project defaults when multiple versions are installed, but with the addition of new OS's, does this complicate it even more.
We have been keeping legacy versions for DOT clients who are on older versions, but also because I don't have an easy way to push out updates to everyone. Many people only get a new version when they get a new PC.
