Can you create a profile view with profiles of multiple parallel horizontal alignments?
As an alternate, can you display offsets of a profile in OpenRoads?
Thanks,
Paul

Hello,
I am using Power Geopak v8i SS2.
I have imported boreholes from gINT and while the borehole dialog is open and boreholes selected for placement in plan view, I select the MDL Application "Geotechnical - Custom" for extracting northing-easting values from the boreholes selected. However, I get a dialog pop-up that states "Graphic Group Numbers Do Not Match", "End of Data". Does anyone know what the "Graphic Group Number" may represent?
Can anyone give us some idea how to include custom Civil Report Browser stylesheets into the normal list of Bentley supplied stylesheets? It would be nice if there was a multi- directory configuration variable that we could set when loading our workspace. This way we could load the Bentley delivered reports and custom FDOT reports to the same list.
How to change database Folder from C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\PowerCivil V8i\PowerCivil\Civil\bin to anything else.?
When i open Plan Preparations->Place SMD Feature it opens the right SMD file from the right location (set in the Project->Preferences->Visualization) but when i try to
open from Place SMD Symbol and Linear Feature other SMD file it directs me to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\PowerCivil V8i\PowerCivil\Civil\bin.

I am running earthwork on a cross section file and I am having issues with some of the undercuts randomly not being read from section to section or sometimes within the same section. This project and file is older and was most likely created before V8i. My existing ground, finished grade, and all my undercuts display correctly before running the earthwork routine through project manager. I managed to narrow the issue down to undercuts that are only connected to other undercuts. I can get the earthwork to run correctly for all undercuts connected to the finished grade. As soon as I add the undercut for my aggregate base (under my pavement and curb undercuts), the undercuts that were previously being read correctly now are randomly (I couldn't find a pattern) being missed in some sections. There is even a section where it read the curb undercut on one side, but not the other. There are no earthwork run errors and there is nothing indicated in the log file that something is wrong other than the random missing undercuts. I am not using corridor modeler or INRoads. I believe that the sections were originally cut using typical section generator. Any ideas?
Using InRoads SS3 and Project Wise SS4. Defined all the variables for InRoads SS3. All working fine except for CIVIL_XIN_FILE which points to c:\ProgramData\Bentley\Civil\InRoads\8.11\en\civil.xin. Does anyone know where the variable is being overwritten from the folder on Project Wise that was defined in the variable to the local hard drive?
Is it possible to use *.ics files to establish bridge geometry for use with InRoads Bridge? We would like to use InRoads Bridge, but would like to have documentation for the calculation book that establishes how various components were defined. Can we somehow create *.ics files (which we already do for our bridge geometry) and then use InRoads Bridge to extrude the bridge model? If so, is there documentation anywhere that discusses this operation?
When trying to detach a reference in SS4 Geopak I get a warning that the reference has probable dependencies. Is there an easy way to determine which elements are dependent on particular references? There is a way to see what reference the element is dependent on, but considering we have several hundred elements in a drawing, finding the right one will be a very long process.

Can any body help in pavement and sub grade design, when i go through the pavement and sub grade design, while first i am copying the existing carriageway edges to design model after i am selecting the existing edges in pavement layer design. In cross sections, camber slopes are showing error, can any body help from this error
I have seen a particular terrain model issue crop up for several users. I already know what the fix is; but I want to understand how this keeps happening, and to try to prevent it.
We are using Power GEOPAK SS3 for the time being, version 08.11.09.722.
I have a DGN with an overpass. The bridge deck lines are included in the terrain model, but are marked as "do not use". The points making up the line are also marked "do not use". The terrain triangles are clearly using some of the points on this line as triangle vertices (but not all). I see no difference in the data for points which are being used and those not being used.
I can find no combination of locking/unlocking the terrain, activating/deactivation survey processing rules which makes this terrain act "live". The only thing that works properly is drawing a linestring around part of this deck, and adding to the terrain as a "hole". The triangles correctly shift to show this hole. Triangles outside of this hole are still where they were, either correctly on the ground or incorrectly up on the deck. Triangles inside the hole are correctly removed.
Changing the deck line to a "breakline" instead of "do not use" adds even more triangle vertices, which is based on our stroking tolerance setting. Changing back to "do not use" merely reverts to the previous incorrect terrain.
There are no underlying lines or points at these locations. All levels are turned on. All field book data is being shown, both "all point features" and "all linear features" checked "on".
Since an exterior clip boundary has already been created, deleting the terrain model and creating a new one from the field book resolves the issue completely. So, I know how to fix it, but not how to prevent it.
If anyone has seen this and has any ideas, please let me know! (I can upload the DGN if anyone thinks they would like to see it.)

Not sure why I get this error. I have some people that can use the D&C tool to bring in profile info and others get this message. GEOPAK SS3 08.11.09.722 inside of projectwise. Also have random GPK file access issues. Could these be related?
I have a horizontal alignment using only simple curves. I want to add spirals to some curves. Is there an easy to do this in SS4?
As a new user (going on four months, now) to Microstation SS3 and Geopak SS3, in my efforts to figure out how best to effectively develop my templates, I found that a less-than-working knowledge of End Condition Properties will generally result in a waste of the user's time, so I went exploring. Please correct me if I'm wrong in what follows.
What I found is that if Check for Interception is not set, End Condition is Infinite is as irrelevant as Place Point at Interception.
So my first suggestion is to simplify what the user sees as his options and grey out End Condition is Infinite when Check for Interception is off.
But I have a few more advanced suggestions, though they're still rather cosmetic but may aid greatly in comprehension of what the user is to expect:
I'm using GeoPak Survey to edit a terrain model. I used to have a bunch of tools under the Terrain Model tool bar and now only 3 show up. Where did the other tools go and how do I get them back?
Hi,
When I view a horizontal alignment, a 'B' displays at the beginning and end with 'A' at event points. I cannot find the setting to not display these letters. I know it can be set in preferences but I'm having issues finding it.
Thanks!
Can the "Load_Geopak_SS2" and "Load_InRoads_SS2" variables be defined or called up within a client based ucf? We have multiple clients that require either Geopak or InRoads so we need to have the ability to work off of both platforms.
Working on a large PW project with many users from many firms. We have "master" contour files that users reference when they need contours for display. However, there are corridor based DTM's and other connected/adjoining DTM's needed to make this file's display.
Certain end-users sometimes need to load the underlying DTM files and it can be problematic for them to determining which DTM to load and with the many hands in the pot, even the location of the DTM is PW is varied.
To help, I tried making a Drafting Tools Plan Note to label the DTM's by name using a non-plotting Level but found I had to make each DTM active for the label to work, even though MicroStation lists the Surface name in the hover over tips. It should be possible for a Plan note tool to access the same surface information as MicroStation is using. Being able to do this would simplify my life.
In my office, we have always used tags on every InRoads element that supports this capability so users can use tag information to access this type of information even with no InRoads files loaded. But on this project, the "team" does not want to work in this manner. When I tried showing them the benefit of this methodology, the appearance of many orphaned tags that some, yet to be determined workflow left behind, started my demonstration off with two strikes against it.
