I created several terrain filters and a filter group a week or so ago using the Graphical Filter Manager which is working fine. Today I went to create some additional filters to add to the group and the filters I am adding will be filtered by level but when I go to edit the new filters to choose the level to filter by, the levels I need to select are missing. The levels are all listed in the level manager and also in the level display dialog but those levels are not appearing under the edit filter button in the Terrain Filter Manager as they were when I created the original filters and filter group. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Thank you.

Milling/Overlay Component (PowerGEOPAK SS3 08.11.09.722)
Good Morning,
I have a project where we are overlaying the roadway without milling, we are overlaying with a thickness of 7.5" on top of ex pavement. I would like to run a template that will run along the existing horizontal/vertical and will run 7.5" above the REOP or the LEOP (12' L/R of horizontal alignment). The 7.5" will very from LEOP to REOP. The top of the template will be 2% cross slope L/R and the bottom will follow ex ground. I would then like the template to create the vertical alignment for me. I imagine the overlay/milling template will work for this but doesn't the milling template work from the ex ground down? Any insight on how to accomplish this will be greatly appreciated.

Re-triangulate Same Surface Over and Over and Over
I am doing a series of intersection sight distance triangles. I had cut initial profiles with the existing ground surface. Now I am trying to update the profiles to also show the proposed surface.
For this project, there are multiple segments of proposed surfaces, so I have to select more than one surface each time. And since I am new to this project, I am not familiar enough with the surfaces to know which surface is needed for which profile. The problem is that when I select a profile to update and select the surfaces and press the Apply button, I am prompted to re-triangulate certain surfaces as the triangles are out of date. The issue is, that it is prompting me for this on every single profile and each time, tolerance issues are encountered and it offers to round the computations to address this problem.
My question is this: Why does it need to do this over and over and over and over, each time the command is processed. Why does it not determine that the triangles have been updated, on the previous profile update and are no longer out of date.

Corridor Modeling Labeler Error
Having an issue with the labeler labeling all cross sections properly. About 90% of the sections are labeled and it seems that the other 10% of labels show up just not where they should be...i.e. STA. 11+00.00 will show its respective label w/ elev. and offset but it will also show the label for STA. 10+00.00 with the added elevation of STA. 10+00.00 and STA. 11+00.00. (shown in first picture of PDF) Some cross section will have a few labels but not all specified and others will be completely blank.
I've already tried creating a new .xlp and a new cross section .dgn to no avail. I've used this program before with no issues. Since last using without issues my comp has been upgraded to Windows 7, V8i SS3 v. 08.11.09.459 and Geopak V8i SS2 v. 08.11.07.615.
Any and all help resolving this issue is appreciated.

Alignment Naming Oddities (PowerGEOPAK SS3 08.11.09.722)
Good Morning,
Just when I'm getting used to SS2 we move to SS3. One thing that I am having troubles with is my alignment names. When I create an alignment for one alignment, the name I give it sticks, when I create another alignment I give it a name of Ramp_A but it instead gives me a name of Ramp_A1, then when I try to rename it via the feature name or in navigator it keeps incrementing the name to Ramp_A2, Ramp_A3 etc. What am I doing wrong and how do I rename the alignment to just Ramp_A. I also have two mainline alignments. The NB alignment I created is fine (NB75_D) and its named what I named it. I used the offset alignment option for southbound and it worked fine but the southbound alignment (SB75_D1) appended the name with a 1 after it. When I look in project explorer there is a SB75_D AND a SB75_D1. Can someone shed some clarity on this?

OpenRoads (Geopak) Edit Horizontal Alignment
I would like to edit an alignment that has an active profile and I am having trouble understanding why I cannot edit a specific way.
First screen shot shows original alignment (of course this alignment extends further north).
Second screen shot shows complex element I want to replace beginning of original alignment with.
So essentially the beginning of the alignment will be shorter. I tried to use the Complex Redefine. I am allowed to select original alignment but when prompted to select complex element to redefine I get the circle with the line thru it and a prompt of Invalid Geometry type.
I know that the replacement complex element is valid as I can break the original alignment and then use the Complex By Elements command to join the replacement complex element with the rest of the now broken original alignment. But this is not desired because I cannot use the original alignment name which is what my corridor is currently using. The profile is associated to this new alignment but again my corridor is associated to the original alignment name.
I would like to keep original alignment intact and insert or replace the replacement alignment so as to keep the original alignment name which will not affect my corridor. Anyone?

Openroads underground utilities on cross sections
Hello,
This may be more of a Microstation question but I'm using the process with Openroads. I am using the "Solid by Extrusion Along" to create 3d existing underground utilities. I'll first use the Horizontal "Complex by Elements", then create an offset vertical from the existing terrain. That results in a 3D Linear element. After applying a solid to the linear element, I get a nice pipe circle on the cross sections.
The problem is...sometimes the "Solid by Extrusion Along" works and sometimes "Unable to generate geometry". I can't seem to get a feel for what the criteria is for it to work. Sometimes a complex horizontal (lot of PI's) and complex vertical will extrude. Is there a max number of horz.. or vert. PI's? Don't use curves? Or is there bettter way to accomplish this task?

Compound Curve/Arc in MX ss3
In MX, how to create a compound arc between two straights/strings with levels as fillet string at junction which will modify the levels between 2 strings as well. This can be achieving through Design>compound arc between strings but couldn't succeeded. Can anyone describe or upload video of procedure to do the same.

Open Roads SS3 > Create Terrain Model By Graphical Filter > Problem with triangulation of cells representing spot elevations
Random Terrain Points (spot elevations) in our mapping DGN file are represented with a cell that looks like a white plus symbol as shown in the second screen capture below. I have created terrain filters and a filter group which I use with the command ‘Create Terrain Model by Graphical Filter’. The problem I’m having is that each vertex of the plus symbol is being included in the triangulation rather than only triangulating the origin of the cell. See the third and fourth screen caputures below. Is there a setting that will triangulate only the origin of the cell?

Openroads not keeping symbology of cells when cutting crossing sections
We have cells that have different linestyles (using the built-in linestyles) within them. The cells look correct while viewing within OpenRoads, however, when exporting to native Geopak Cross sections, all linestyles are put to solid lines. Any suggestions?

Cannot import profile into OpenRoads file to an existing horizontal alignment.
I am trying to work on a profile in Geopak and then import the vertical alignment into SS3 OpenRoads to an existing horizontal alignment. Every time I try to import, a new horizontal alignment is created. Is there a way to import a profile to an existing horizontal alignment?

Station Offset Command
With Inroads we have the ability to use the station offset command for precise input relative to an alignment. The syntax being:
SO=Station,Offset,Elevation,Alignment
This ability seems to be replaced by civil accudraw however the more powerful feature to this keyin is not in the single entry but with the ability to create a text file with a long series of keyins that can be parsed. You create a simple text file and then in your keyin window you enter something like "@C:\SO_List.txt". This simple ability is extremely powerful and is something I want to see retained in future releases of Openroads. Further this is one of the things I miss most when working in Geopak. The prospect that we will have one product and have this ability is exciting and I want to make sure the developers are consider this moving forward. Right now with the the legacy portion of Inroads we have this ability but hope it is retained as the legacy portions deprecated.

OpenRoads - File Load/Reload
I have noticed that each time I enter a file with openroads data, Microstation reloads reference files (as shown in the lower left corner of the attached picture). Some of the files that are listed are not even attached to the file I am in. In some files, this file reload happens when I do anything in the file, click on corridor object, change feature definition, etc.
Does anyone know why the files load when entering when they are not even attached to the file I am entering? Also, what would cause this when clicking objects in a file?

GEOPAK SS3 Problem - Profle from surface
… as reported by Terry Walters and I have now confirmed:
Did you know ? If you try to create a “quick profile from surface” for an arc element from a corridor surface that crosses a template interval , the profile breaks!
As a work around, you can change the corridor stage to a “Top Mesh Only” first and the profile will generate OK. Then change back to a “Design” or “Final” Stage.

Openroads Corridor Template - Horizontal Feature Constraint Target Survey Feature Definition (Inroads 08.11.09.722
If I have an existing conditions survey that was assembled using terrestrial point data with point codes and feature definitions (to create point list linear features and an existing terrain model), how can I target the resulting linear features (E_Road_Edge_Pave) in the corridor template points using the Horizontal Feature Constraint option?? The existing surface is referenced into the corridor dgn. Two things (at least) I don't understand about this situation. 1: Can I target feature definitions that are located in a referenced civil model?? 2: Can I target Survey Feature definitions??

Alignments in GEOPAK SS3 08.11.09.722
I have an alignment file that of course, contains all of my alignments. There is always cleanup involved with stationing, bearing text, PC/PI/PT, etc. When I move text around and clean up text overlaps it appears that they all revert back to the original location after somebody accesses the alignment file to add new alignments and I'm constantly chasing my tail cleaning up the text. Why is SS3 putting the text back in the original location and how can I stop it?

OpenRoads Civil Cells - Update Template
I have developed several civil cells that use linear templates in one form or another. If I make a change to the template and sync that template with the library the cell becomes unusable and I need to drop it and recreate it. Why is this? I am not changing any part of the cell, only syncing the linear template with the library.
