OpenRoads - Annotate Cross Sections

I have a complex corridor consisting of corridors, linear tempaltes, and civil cells, displayed in static cross sections.  I am trying to annotate specific features in only corridors.  Is there a way to filter the list of crossing features displayed in the highlighted box in the attached photo?  If not, there should be.

OpenRoads SS3 Cross Section Reports

Hopefully this is an easy one...  I am new to Bentley products so forgive me if I've overlooked something, how do you utilize all of these XML reports that can be found in the  "Bentley Civil Report Browser" (see attachment)?  I am able to use the reports that are associated with buttons on the task menus (milling reports, design input, results report), but I'm in need of some cross section reports and it looks like the reports I need are under the 'Evaluation' folder in the "Bentley Civil Report Browser".  I can't figure out how to run the reports using an openroads corridor model.

Thanks!

InRoads Ss2 - Horizontal Regression Questions

I watched the Video on InRoads/BRT Horizontal Regression and was able to get it to work, but it was not as seamless as it was in the video.

First, I am working on a road alignment as opposed to rail and my road is only two lanes, undivided, with occasional turn lanes, so I will not be using any spirals. Once I bring in my COGO points, there are no clear indicators for straight versus arcs. However, it appears that the general shape does indicate where curves reverse direction.

Getting the points into the regression list always seem to take two commands - the initial add seemed to always only load the first two points and then I needed to use the right click menu in the list to add the remainder of the points.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for using these tools on roads and any suggestions on reasonable values for many of the fields in many of these dialog boxes?

Power InRoads SS3 08.11.09.722 - MicroStation/Open Roads - Getting kickout out when using the 'Trim to Element' tool in MicroStation to trim mapping and survey data.

We are having a problem with getting kicked out when using the ‘Trim to Element’ tool in MicroStation to trim the TPBL line (blue dashed) to the TLIML line (White Dashed). Two areas where this is occurring are pointed to by the red arrows below but are not limited to these areas. Other areas trim with no problem. These two TPBL lines are from a mapping DGN file that was merged into this DGN file (SurveyProcessing.dgn - attached). The TLIML line is a survey line that was imported from a CSV file. Terrain models were created for each which may or may not have anything to do with the problem. This is being done as part of our process of removing existing mapping where survey field enhancements have been collected.  Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?  Thank you.

Is there a way in SS3 to stroke linear features by Feature- rather than having to use a global setting in the configuration?

Profile Grade GEOPAK SS3 08.11.09.722

I created a template that is running 7.5" above my ex vertical profile and I would like GEOPAK SS3 to create a proposed vertical profile of the point 7.5" higher than the ex PGL. In SS2 I would have used the Cross Section>Reports>Profile Grade option and chose the XSEC point name of what I wanted recorded then imported the input file into GEOPAK. There has to be a better way in GEOPAK SS3 that I am just not seeing. The image below explains what I am trying to accomplish. TIA.

Reorder of Regression Points

After working on one section of a road center-line, I found a mislabeled point. I corrected the style and tried to add it to my regression points but it puts it at the very front of the list. How do I get this point located in the correct location?

Corridor Modeling Labeler Error

Having an issue with the labeler labeling all cross sections properly. About 90% of the sections are labeled and it seems that the other 10% of labels show up just not where they should be...i.e. STA. 11+00.00 will show its respective label w/ elev. and offset but it will also show the label for STA. 10+00.00 with the added elevation of STA. 10+00.00 and STA. 11+00.00. (shown in first picture of PDF) Some cross section will have a few labels but not all specified and others will be completely blank.

I've already tried creating a new .xlp and a new cross section .dgn to no avail. I've used this program before with no issues. Since last using without issues my comp has been upgraded to Windows 7, V8i SS3 v. 08.11.09.459 and Geopak V8i SS2 v. 08.11.07.615.

Any and all help resolving this issue is appreciated.

In MX, how to create a compound arc between two straights/strings with levels as fillet string at junction which will modify the levels between 2 strings as well. This can be achieving through Design>compound arc between strings but couldn't succeeded. Can anyone describe or upload video of procedure to do the same.

OpenRoads: vertical curve definition

Hi All,

I have a 30 km longhighway schema. Client requirement is to design vertical profile with vertical curves set as circural elemetns.  I set in Civil settings vertical curve parameter to Rvalue.

Designing vertical alignment goes quite seamles. I added a number of vertical  circural curves with approperiate tools with no problemems at all. The problem occures when I need to export my geometry back to native (InRoads) alg file. It stops importing vertical alignment on the firs station where Reverse Profile Transistion was used. I genereated report and was surprised to find out that this transition was definied with parabolas.

In alg file we must not have mixed vertical curve types. I hopped to change InRoads option for Geometry to enforce parabolic definition but it switches back to circural on every export try. It looks that when the firs openroads element matters: if it is a circural arc - alg would have circural definition set for cvertical curves. If it is parabola, the alg definition would be set to parabolic type.

With all that being said, now I want to annotate my profile. Can not be done without alg file and I can not create that file now. I need to delete all elements created with Reverse Profile Transition and redesign my vertical profile. The  workflow would be needed as well if someone accidently mixed vertical curve types in civil geometry.

Is there a tool to design reverse profile transition with ircural elements? Is there a way to avoid mixing vertical curve types when designing profile. Is there a way to unify vertical curve types on export to alg file?

Thanks.

New version of PowerCivil UK and Ireland - when?

Hi,

When will you release the latest build (08.11.09.7xx) of PowerCivil UK and Ireland?

Some other country version were released in the past few weeks, but not the UK and Ireland.

There are some very annoying bugs (case crashes and double work) in the recent public version and I want to forget them...

Thanks: Zsolt

PROBLEMS WITH A TEMPLATE THAT TIES INTO THE TERRAIN AT THE LEFT OF WAY LINE

Hello.

I'm starting with Openroads. PowerCivil SS3.

I'm trying to apply a template to get variable slope not to pass across a line (Geom_ROW).

I am following "Defining End Conditions"  Trainning and I have created a template for "A solution That ties into the terrain at the Left of Way line".

But I do not get it to work.

The template´s Test is Ok.
I think I have to make my limit (Geom_ROW) belongs to the terrain model. Is this correct?

But I don´t know how to do that.
The limit (Geom_ROW) is in another Referent  and his elevation is zero.
Is posible atach this limit into the terrain model?
What is the correct workflow to do that?
Thank you for yours sugestions.

Is there a variable that assigns the location of Civil Cellls?

OpenRoads import superelevation from file

Has anyone tried to import superelevation from CSV with PowerInroads/Inroads 08.11.09.722?

I created report from my superelevation section (Provided by Bentley CSV report) stored in dgn file. Then I moved to another file and created superelevation section and lines on a base geometry. I want to import previously created  CSV report - but I get no superelevation data and no error message.

Lanes names in DGN file match names in CSV files, same with station format, etc. I can not have that tool worked.

I thought it would be the best way if you changed baseline geometry dgn file and want to copy Superelevation to be based on another geometry (which is basicly the same one)

Feature Name Override as Point Control

$

I am trying to use a point control (linear geometry) to control a slope line.  The point names at the end of each end condition solution are different and would require multiple point controls through the area. To solve this, in the template, I am attempting to  “Use Feature Name Override” to change all the tie in points to “ToeTie L” or “ToeTie R”.  This seems to work and the Tie features are created in the corridor.  The issue comes when I try to create the point control… the ToeTie L and ToeTie R are not in the drop down list of points available to assign a point control to.  The actual point names for the Toes are.

Is there some setting that tells a feature/point to show up in the list?  I thought this was what the Name Override was for… to create a continuous feature of the same name...   Is this a defect?

2 Questions:

1.  In the screen capture below, what do the greyed out elevations mean?

2. What is causing the elevations with locks to have locks and how do I remove them so that I can edit the feature?

How do I remove this?

I have added a picture below of what I am talking about. How do I remove the "ghost" too box that pops up when I use the Element Selection Tool? It pops up every time I select and element and don't move. It is especially annoying when I need to lengthen a line to a specific length and I click on the end and I can’t time in the length under the Accudraw. Please help. Thanks

Working Alignment Definition Defaults

Could someone tell me how to set default levels, scales, etc... in the Working Alignment Definition dialogue menu?  I have to repetitively populate these fields for every project I set up.  I understand some fields are different for each project, but I would like to have some things set when I start a new Project.

Ex...  The Lv Names: should be the same for any project along with the Placement Symbology.
